A MOUNTAIN OF IMPACT
75 Climbers Conquer 6 Peaks in 1 Day, Raising $63,210.75 for Sick Kids In Hospital.
In a remarkable show of endurance, community spirit and generosity, 75 participants braved the incline of six Sunshine Coast peaks in just one day, raising crucial funds for paediatric medical equipment in local and regional hospitals.
The annual ‘6 Peaks in 1 Day’ challenge, organised by Reed & Co. Estate Agents, reached new heights this year, both in participation and impact raising $63,210.75. Backed by major sponsors Satori Advisory and Judo Bank, and supported by VitHit, Bounce Foods, TH7 Bodylabs Noosa, and the incredible bus drivers Ivan and James of Good Shepherd Lutheran College, this year’s event has further cemented its legacy in the local community.
From the first light at Wild Horse Mountain to the final push up Mount Cooroora’s punishing incline, climbers pushed through pain, fatigue, and elevation all with a singular purpose: to help save children’s lives.
“This is a group of the coolest people, they have self-nominated to do something incredible, exciting, challenging and with for a purpose on their Sunday. This incredible event demands the absolute best from its participants”, says Adrian Reed, Founder & Director of Reed & Co. Estate Agent’s.
“A piece of medical equipment that we buy today lives on in hospitals and continues to save lives. It takes courage to strive for greatness, to make a difference in the lives of children in hospitals, and to push ourselves when it truly matters. I am constantly amazed by our team and our community. I couldn’t be prouder.”
For Adrian and the team at Reed & Co., this isnít about real estate or recognition. It’s about making a real impact in our community. Every cent raised goes directly to purchasing life-saving paediatric medical equipment. This year’s event adds to a growing legacy that Reed & Co. have been committed to since opening their doors in 2018. Reed & Co. in collaboration with the Loyal Foundation and Humpty Dumpty Foundation have now raised 1,162,082.86 and funded 88 pieces of paediatric medical equipment for our local Noosa and regional hospitals across Australia.
The event kicked off at 5:00am with participants warming up their legs and enjoying the spectacular view at Wild Horse Mountain before continuing to Mount Beerburrum, Mount Ngungun, Mount Ninderry, Mount Coolum, and finally Mount Cooroora. A highlight was a little bit of healthy competition on the last peak, a race to be crowned King and Queen of Mount Cooroora. Marat Roche defended his title from 2024 with a time of 27 minutes and Fiona McEvoy was crowned Queen of the Mountain crossing the finish line in just 31 minutes. The challenge concluded with celebratory drinks at Pomona Distilling Co., where participants reflected on the physical feat and the lives that will be saved thanks to their efforts!
