Andrea Fox Q&A

WHAT DID YOU DO BEFORE YOU WERE IN REAL ESTATE?

I was born on a cattle and sheep station in the Kimberley where you started working as soon as you could walk. Mustering cattle, branding and hard work in isolation was just part of our life. You soon learned to survive and take calculated risks in such an environment. I loved every minute.

DID THE YEARS IN BUSINESS HELP YOU WITH REAL ESTATE?

Certainly gave me skills of being able to create solutions and a genuine desire to provide the best service and outcome possible. The greatest buzz is a totally satisfied client who can trust and rely on my skills, experience and ethics with total confidence. For me, the client and their wellbeing are always at the forefront of my mind.

HOW DID YOU GET INTO REAL ESTATE?

I bought my first house in my 20’s. It was in construction phase and in an unknown area thus considered high risk. The result was impressive and from there I was hooked on the capacity of real estate. Subsequently, an opportunity came up for me to play a leading role in the setup of an agency. This agency was small and competing against well-established agencies. It was a challenge and we were very successful. From there I went to start up my own agencies which was extremely rewarding in every sense.

WHAT IS YOUR MOST MEMORABLE SALE?

So many but most recently the sale of a Zebra Rock Gallery and Farm holding which included a mine site, gallery, land, farming equipment, existing leases, and dwellings. It covered all aspects of real estate and was an exceptional challenge with the Vendor suffering health issues.

WHAT’S YOUR GUILTY PLEASURE?

Delicious food, excellent wine and unconditional friends.

WHAT’S THE HARDEST THING YOU HAVE EVER DONE?

Set up highly successful businesses in remote areas when most said it was impossible and would fail. Everything was on the line and adapting to new environments as part of the setup was extremely challenging but to achieve the outcome of bringing a successful business to town was very gratifying.

WHAT’S YOUR DEFINING CHARACTERISTIC?

Empathy, genuine care and attention to detail. I love using my skills to help people.
